AnandTech: ATI Radeon X800 Pro and XT Platinum Edition: R420 Arrives. Incredible as it may seem. The new nVidia NV40 chip (6800 boards) shipped a couple of weeks ago.
ATI has responded with their R420 chipset that will ship on Radeon X800 XT boards.
Amazing as it may seem both vendors have essentially doubled performance. Wow. Can’t wait to get my hands on these cards!
