Well been a little while since my last Chinese lesson:

Shanghai Park Hyatt. 上海柏悦酒店。 Shang4hai3 Bai3yue4 Jiu3dian4. This is the really big building. So the Park Hyatt is Bai3 Yue4 and the Grand Hyatt is Jun1 Yue4. Confused yet?

Shanghai Grand Hyatt. 上海金茂君悅大酒店. Shang4hai3 Jin1mao4 Jun1yue4 Da4jiu3dian4. Really directly translated as the Jinmao Grand Hyatt.

“Shanghaiist”:http://shanghaiist.com/2008/12/02/a_drink_at_the_top_of_shanghai_leve.php has a good review of the Park Hyatts restaurant called imaginatively 100 Century Avenue (世纪大道100号). Says it feels like Aqua and is better than 789, Vue Bar, and Cloud 9. I haven’t been to 789, but Cloud 9 is pretty nice. A good choice I thin. The nice thing is that 789 is in the Royal Meridian, so close if you are in Xintiandi or People’s Park. Another cleverly named bar as it is at 789 Nanjing Lu.

Best-shanghai-restaurants.com has kind of an old list of restaurants in Shanghai. Frightening how many I’ve actually been to. Including Laris, Sens&Bund, Jade on 36th, T8, M on the Bund, The Kitchen, Palladio, Ye Shanghai, South Beauty 881, The Tandoor, Charmant, Simply Thai, 1931, Element Fresh, Blue Frog. But there are few left to try Jean-Georges, The Yongfoo Elite, Lynn, Di Shui Dong, Shintori
