Suddenly there is a file /mach_kernel visible. This is probably the actual kernel of OS X as it uses Mach as its basis. It’s easy to fix as you don’t want to delete it, just make it invisible by starting Terminal and typing in:
sudo chflags hidden /mach_kernel
