We just had our main SSL certificate “die” on Netlify. I’m not sure why but a TXT record got truncated. This reminded me I’ve had another long standing issue with tongfamily.com where every so often I would get an invalid SSL certificate.
Well, I tried gemini-cli to figure this out and it led me to the Inmotion Hosting > Cpanel > Security > SSL/TLS > Certificates (CRT)
section. And there was a confusing list of old certificate there that were all expried in July and August of this year. And a single new one. I just did the expedient of “Install” on the new one and that seems to have fixed it.
It looks like “Manage Site” in that same menu will tell you want is actually installed and they see correct now. There is a see of documentation for both Inmotion and the Cpanel that it uses, but this is just super confusing. There is an AutoSSL feature that should be doing the renewals with Let’s Encrypt but I’m not sure why mine is out of date.
