wp: Removing local backups with Updraft on WordPress

I’ve been a faithful users of Updraft for a long time, but because I haven’t used shared hosting in a long time, the backup files have not been a problem (and don’t take much space), but Inmotion has an automatic searching tool that looks for backup files and they bang on you if you have them, so I made sure that I deleted the files. The problem is on the next backup they reappeared, so what to do to get rid of the local backup files. Thanks Bigscoots!

It turns out it is buried three levels deep how to deal with this:

  1. Got to WP Admin > Updraft Plus > Settings
  2. Scroll all the way down to Expert Setting > Show expert Settings
  3. Click on “Delete Local Backup” and this will remove them once the remote site has them. (I use Google Drive by the way for this and it works great!)
